Submissions

SUBMISSIONS FOR FALL 2024 ARE OPEN!

The submission deadline is [Date TBD], 2024 AT 11:59 P.M. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Submissions are accepted via email at glr@oswego.edu

  • Acceptable genres include Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Drama (Playwriting and Screenwriting), and Art.

  • DO NOT include your name or any other personal information on/in your piece. Your name MUST be located ONLY in the subject header of the email. If your name is on your piece or on the title of the document, it will not be considered. 

  • POETRY is limited to 5 poems per person, per semester.

  • ART is limited to 5 pieces per person, per semester.

  • NONFICTION, FICTION, & DRAMA are limited to 15 pages MAX. You may submit an excerpt of a longer piece. Fiction and Nonfiction pieces should be double spaced, but limit to 15 pages single spaced at maximum. Drama pieces should have proper formatting.

  • Please include the author/artist name (a.k.a. your name), genre, and title of the piece(s) in the subject heading of your email. 

  • Work should be sent as an attachment as a Word or pdf document. Art pieces should be sent in as a .jpg, .tiff, or .eps. Yes, we accept comics! Remember to blank out any author or illustrator names in comics.

  • The author/artist may submit in multiple genres. If you have submissions for multiple genres please email your submissions in separate emails by genre. 

  • Submissions will only be accepted from current SUNY Oswego students.

 

All submissions are anonymous once sent to genre editors. In order to avoid favoritism, editors familiar with a piece are asked not to vote on it and current editors are also ineligible to submit. We will not accept previously published works, including self-published novel excerpts. Sorry! Industry standard.
