GUIDELINES

SUBMISSIONS FOR FALL 2019 ARE NOW OPEN! The submission deadline is Saturday, October 12, at 11:59 p.m.

  • Submissions are accepted via email at glr@oswego.edu

  • Acceptable genres include Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Playwriting, Screenwriting, Comics, and Art.

  • DO NOT include your name or any other personal information on/in your piece. Your name MUST be located ONLY in the subject header of the email. If your name is on your piece, it will not be considered. 

  • Poetry is limited to 5 poems per person, per semester.

  • Art is limited to 5 pieces per person, per semester.

  • Non-Fiction, Fiction, Playwriting, and Screenwriting are limited to 15 pages MAX. You may submit an excerpt of a longer piece but please state that it is an excerpt. Fiction and Nonfiction pieces should be double spaced. Drama pieces should have their correct spacing and be in the proper format.

  • Color comics are limited to 1 page and black and white comics are limited to 5 pages MAX. Comics should be submitted as either Fiction or Non-Fiction, depending on the content. 

  • Please include the author/artist name, genre, and title of the piece in the subject heading of your email. Please do NOT include your name on your submission.

  • Work should be sent as an attachment as a .doc or pdf. Art pieces should be sent in as a jpg, tiff, or eps.

  • The author/artist may submit in multiple genres. But please see the number of submissions allowed. 

  • If you have submissions for multiple genres please email your submissions in separate emails by genre. 

  • Submissions will only be accepted from current SUNY Oswego students

 

All submissions are anonymous once sent to genre editors. In order to avoid favoritism, editors familiar with a piece are asked not to vote on it and current editors are also ineligible to submit.

 

 

If you are interested in sharing a project which would not be able to be printed in the magazine, we would like to include more student work in cyberspace. We will post events and publish artistic & literary work directly to this site.
